Filter Structure

Quick Functions

Quick edits that affect the whole filter. Please note that you cannot undo these. Consider creating a save before using them.

All of the above are some presets of the actual 'Command Builder'. If you are looking for something more specific, you can build it yourself in the section below.

Command Builder

Create custom commands! Please considering saving your changes first. Missusing this tool can cause damage to the filter.

Add "Selectors" to specify the parts of the filter that will be edited
Add "Actors" to specify the changes that will be applied.

Upload Filter

Step 1: Upload Filter File WARNING: Using any custom uploaded filter will:

Likely cause the Customizer to partially misbehave and may cause unpredictable bugs. We recommend using the structure screen instead.
Disable the Save & Load system. You will have to upload/download the filter instead.

This ALSO applies to edited versions of NeverSink's filter. If you really want to use the customizer with a custom filter, you need to maintain an Option-File (which is a lot of work).
Please use the Save & Load system instead of re-uploading files!.

Optional: Upload a Customizer Option File The Customizer needs a compatible 'Option File' for the selected Filter. An edited NeverSink filter will likely NOT work with the default NeverSink Option File!

For Creators

Style Summary (Overview) The Option File determines the items and descriptions in the Style Summary on the Overview Screen.

Loot Simulator Drop chances in the Loot Simulator are determined by another Option File.

Customizer The Customizer needs a compatible 'Option File' for the selected Filter. Note that an EDITED NeverSink filter might NOT work with the NeverSink Option File! This even applies if the filter was edited here. Use the Save-Load system to transfer changes!

Filter Line Translator

For your day-to-day filter creator!
Use the FilterBlade appearance editor to find the right colors for your filter and simply copy/paste the generated code into your filter!
These 4 items represent the 4 possible rarities (Normal/None, Magic, Rare, Unique) since they have different default text colors.

Settings

Color Picker Palette Customize the color palette on the left side of the color pickers here. Pick a color and click "Add color" to add it, or select an existing one from the palette and click "Remove color" to remove it.

Enable Style Edit button Activating this option will add the 'Style' button to Appearance Editors all around the site. The style button works the same way the "Style Editor" Section does, but allows doing style changes on the fly, without switching back and forth. It's slightly confusing for new users, but you've made it this far, so you're likely ready to bask in the glory of the 'Style' button!

Alert sound volume This has no influence on the filter and inGame sounds, but is a way to adjust how loud the FilterBlade website in your browser plays the sounds (in case this is much different from the inGame volume).

Always display all Show/Hide/Disable options Only recommended for advanced users that know what they're doing. This has the potential to seriously damage the filter.

Enable Lock Feature This allows you to manually lock single items in TierLists of the Customizer, causing items to not be moved from their current tier by filter updates or economy auto-sorts. Items that are moved into a new tier are always locked automatically.

Randomizers

Randomize the filter! Note that both of these will disable the save&load system until next reset. Variant 1: Randomize existing Randomize the appearance of ALL existing rules (colors, sounds, volumes, size, show/hide).

Variant 2: Randomize BaseTypes Disable the existing structure of the filter and create new rules: One for each BaseType of the game, each with its own random appearance.
This also means: Every gem has a different rule and all the gear is based on its base, not its rarity!

Always save your changes before downloading! This will preserve all your modifications. Next time you're here it will merge them into the latest filter version. This way you'll stay up-to-date, while preserving your own gamestyle and preferences. You can also share your modifications with friends or guildmates.

Save with PoE

After saving your customization, you can sync your filter with PoE.

You can also view other player's saveStates on their FilterBlade Profile page.

Create your own preset by changing the filter in the customizer and saving it as a preset here.
You can use presets on the Overview screen.

You can then use these presets on the Overview when creating a new filter.

Save locally

These save states are saved in your browser's "Local Storage", so keep that in mind next time you're cleaning it up, reinstalling the system etc.

Updating into new filter versions

If the filter gets an update, just load your Save State and download your filter again.

You'll get to keep all your modifications, while receiving the new goodies from the updated filter.

Downloading a filter on FilterBlade will ALWAYS get you the newest filter version. No exceptions. We don't deal in outdated versions.

However, if an update will receive major structure modifications (for instance due to large inGame changes), some of your changes will get invalidated and you might have to readjust it. You'll get the list of all those sections here when you load your save. Simply redo those change and you're done. This usually happens during major Path of Exile patches every 3 months.

Sync with your PoE profile

You can upload your filter directly into your PoE account instead of using a local file on your PC. More details here: FAQ

Save your unsaved customization on the 'Save & Load' screen

and allow FilterBlade to access your filters.

to add the filter to your PoE account.

In PoE: open options, then the 'Game' tab. Refresh the 'List of Item Filters'.
You can now select your filter. If it's not there, restart the game.
